GLOBAL RENAL EXERCISE – 1STWORLD SUMMIT

“The greater goal of GREX is to foster research collaboration and innovation across the disciplines of nephrology, exercise, nutrition and psychology to develop effective and feasible strategies to improve health outcomes in people with kidney disease. Our specific short-term aims will be to:
(i) facilitate international robust exercise/physical activity research
(ii) increase knowledge translation to clinic practice.”
The Global Renal Exercise Group (GREX)is inviting nominations for its inaugural World Summit, in accordance with the following participant selection criteria:
· Excellence in the fields of Nephrology, Kinesiology, Exercise, Nutrition and / or Psychology
· Notable academic experience (including teaching, research and publications)
· International recognition (awards, publications, Visiting Professorships, other accolades)
· Proficiency / fluency in English (spoken and written)
· Clinical experience (desirable but not a “must-have”)
Nomination Process
National Ministry of Health authorities, academic institutions and / or research organisations may nominate one participant per country by submitting a package containing:
· completed Nominee / Participant Profile (attached)
· Nominee’s Curriculum Vitae
· Nominee’s List of Publications to date
· Statement of Intent (reason for nominating the respective individual, potential contribution to GREX in the long-run, ideas & goals)
Selection Process
· Nominee package(s) must be sent electronically to:Mrs.Maria Serban, Coordinator, GREX Summit, Calgary 2019, maria.serban@ucalgary.ca
· Submission deadline: on or before July 15th, 2019, 5:00PM (MST)
· The GREX Summit Executive Committee reserves the right to invite nominees to a video interview prior to accepting their nominations. Equally, the GREX Executive Committee may reject nominations should the respective professional profile not meet the selection criteria.

The following costs and expenses will be covered for all out-of-country participants: hotel, meals, trip to the Rockies, participation fees and travel allowance (varies according to geographic area).
